NOW HIRING
Marketing Manager - North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA)
Townsville, Queensland | 3-4 days per week
The North Australian Festival of Arts (NAFA) is looking for a Marketing Manager to help deliver the campaigns, content and communications behind one of North Queensland’s most distinctive cultural events.
NAFA is evolving into a bold, place-led, premium and destination-worthy festival experience — one shaped by North Queensland, ocean, sky, Country and community. We’re looking for a smart, highly organised and creative marketing professional who can help bring that vision to life while driving attendance, strengthening public profile and supporting the festival’s growing brand presence.
This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who loves making things happen. Working closely with the Marketing & Development Director and alongside internal and external collaborators, you’ll coordinate and deliver marketing activity across digital, print, media and onsite channels, keeping campaigns on track, assets moving, deadlines met and public-facing communications strong, consistent and on brand.
About the role
The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering NAFA’s marketing and communications activity to support:
- festival attendance
- public profile
- stakeholder confidence
- brand strength.
This role has a strong operational focus and is all about turning strategy into action — from campaign coordination and content production through to launch schedules, sponsor deliverables, media support, collateral and marketing administration.
What you’ll do
You’ll help coordinate and deliver festival marketing activity in line with approved strategy, timelines and budgets, including program releases, launches, ticket sales campaigns, media announcements and audience communications. You’ll manage schedules and delivery plans, work with designers, PR and media contractors, photographers, videographers and other suppliers, and help roll out marketing materials across digital, print, media and onsite channels.
You’ll also coordinate website updates, EDMs, social media scheduling, campaign copy, media materials and promotional assets, while maintaining clear and consistent brand application across all public-facing materials. The role also supports sponsor and stakeholder communications, PR coordination, campaign reporting, systems administration and internal team coordination.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with demonstrated experience in marketing, communications or campaign delivery, ideally in festivals, arts, events or a related sector. You’ll bring strong project coordination skills, excellent written communication, attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple timelines, collaborators and deliverables at once.
You’ll be someone who can:
- translate plans into action
- keep work moving on time and to a high standard
- coordinate content, collateral and digital communications
- work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, sponsors, partners and stakeholders
- bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to delivery.
Why join NAFA?
This is a chance to play a key role in shaping the public face of a festival that is growing its profile as a bold, high-quality cultural experience with deep connections to place, culture, community and creativity. NAFA’s marketing direction over the next three years is focused on building a stronger identity, elevating perceived value, retaining local audiences, expanding visitor reach and growing the festival’s reputation as a distinctive North Queensland cultural gathering.
NAFA is also committed to elevating First Nations Peoples, stories and leadership, and this role is expected to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to cultural respect, ethical engagement and the amplification of First Nations voices in line with community expectations and Cultural authority.
