FAQ's

Generally, NAFA cannot guarantee refunds or exchanges, except where an event has been cancelled or rescheduled, or where Australian Consumer Law applies.

A change in personal circumstances does not entitle a ticket holder to return or exchange a ticket.

Subject to any statutory rights of refund (including, without limitation, the provisions of the Australian Consumer Law), if an event takes place, then generally there is no right to a refund or exchange, including where a ticket holder cannot attend because of adverse weather conditions.

If a refund is approved by the NAFA Team, unless required by Australian Consumer Law, our handling fees and delivery fees will not be refundable for events. $2 will be kept from each refunded ticket for processing fees.

If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, the below will take place:

Notification: If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, we will use reasonable endeavours to notify you once we have received the relevant information and authorisation from our Event Partner. If you book online, we will use your NAFA account contact details, so you should ensure these details remain up to date. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be informed of such cancellation or rescheduling before the date of the event. It is your responsibility to ascertain whether an event has been cancelled or rescheduled and the date and time of any rescheduled event.

Cancellation: If an event for which you have purchased tickets or Packages is cancelled in full (and not rescheduled), your order will be cancelled, and you will be refunded the price of your tickets (unless required by Australian Consumer Law, our Handling Fees and Delivery Fees will not be refundable for events, where this is specified in the event information for the event). If you have purchased tickets for an event that takes place over several days and one or more days (but not all days) are cancelled, you may only be offered a proportionate partial refund.

Rescheduled Events: If an event for which you have purchased tickets is rescheduled, tickets will be valid for the new date (or you will be offered tickets of a value corresponding with your original tickets for the rescheduled event) subject to availability. If you notify us before the specified deadline (which will be a reasonable period from the time the rescheduled event date is announced) that you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, you will be able to cancel your order and obtain a refund of the sale price of your tickets (unless required by Australian Consumer Law, our Handling Fees and Delivery fees will not be refundable for events, where this is specified in the event information for the event). Failure to notify us by any reasonable specified deadline that you are unable to attend the rescheduled event will be deemed to be a reconfirmation of your order for tickets for the rescheduled event, and you will not be able to claim a refund as a result of the reschedule (unless required by applicable law). For the avoidance of doubt, no refunds will be available until the new date is announced (which will be done within a reasonable time) to allow the Event Partner time to make arrangements for the rescheduled event.

Please note, as NAFA is a hybrid festival, that has both Curated and Fringe shows, some shows may offer Concession/Student discounted tickets and others may not. All Curated shows will offer concession/student prices, as well as the standard ticket prices. All shows both Curated and Fringe will offer companion tickets.

However, Fringe shows are brought to you by the artists, and their ticket types and prices are decided by them. This is based on target sales and offset costs based on the performing artist. If you are unsure if a show can provide one of the following tickets, please contact the team for more information.

Companion Ticket
If you have a Companion Card and require 'attendant care support' to participate in community activities and attend venues during NAFA, the card can assist with the costs when purchasing tickets for the festival.

A Companion Card ticket will only be eligible for those purchasing an Adult, Child or Concession/ Student Ticket. When purchasing online, once you have selected your Adult, Child or Concession/Student Ticket, the option for a Companion Card will be shown. Please select one additional ticket for your companion ticket.

If it does not show as an option, please ring the team on 0403 105 451 who will process one for you. Please ensure you bring your companion card; in case you are asked to present the card at the door.

Concession Ticket
Concession and Student Tickets are valid for any of the following: Pensioners, Seniors, someone with accessible needs, Veterans and Students. These tickets are eligible for purchasing on our website to offer a discounted ticket price. Please ensure you bring your concession card and/or student ID, in case you are asked to present the card at the door.

Child Ticket
During our festival period, if you are entering with young infants (newborns to 18 months old) for most shows you will not need to purchase a ticket. However, they must be seated on an adult’s lap throughout the show.

All children aged 18 months to 15 years old will require a child ticket before entering the performance venues.  

Student Ticket
If you have a student ID card, from a secondary school, TAFE, university, or a Registered Training Organisation. You will be eligible to discounted tickets during the festival. Please ensure that the card has your name and your photo or signature to present to festival staff upon entry.

Accessibility Ticket
If an accessibility ticket is required for a show, these will be displayed as a dependent only when selecting a full paying adult ticket. If this ticket does not show as an option, please ring the team on 0403 105 451 who will process one for you. 

Ticket Prices
Each year, NAFA offers a festival that caters for both Curated and Fringe shows.

Most curated shows will offer tickets at different prices, this is to help offset the different cost factors that each show presents such as travel, accommodation and so much more.

Our Fringe shows are brought to you by the artists at their own cost, meaning that the ticketing prices are decided by them. To allow for these artists to bring you their amazing shows, they must pay their performers, marketing, travel, costumes, props and so much more. NAFA does not enforce any ticketing requirements on the artists, as we are here to support them and help them come back every year.

Additional ticket fees
Each shows ticketing price on our website includes GST and, where applicable, per ticket fees but excludes fees that are calculated on a per transaction basis.

Per transaction fees are added to the final total of the purchasing order. The fees calculated on a per transaction basis are handling fees. Handling fees cover the costs of providing ticketing services, including infrastructure costs and costs to operating an internet site.

If you have purchased more than one ticket, and you wish to name the tickets you purchased for the other patrons this must be done BEFORE you download and print them.

To name your ticket/s, login to your Members Area, then:

1. Click on the “My Orders” menu

2. Click on the “View Order Details” button corresponding to your order/s

3. Click on the “Name Tickets” button, for each ticket that you wish to re-name and personalize the ticket for the person who will be using the ticket to gain entry.

4. Enter the new ticketholder name in the field provided

5. Click the “Name Ticket” button

In the case of E-tickets, once you have named them, you download and print them by either:

1. Clicking the "Download Ticket" button next to each individual ticket and then printing (Note: Please make sure your download blocker is not turned on!), or

2. Clicking the "Email Tickets" button next to the "Order Description" to have each individual ticket on the order emailed to your registered email address.

To download your ticket/s you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. If you do not have it installed, you can download it for free from - www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html

Group Bookings (usually of 4 or 6) are only available on select shows and will appear as a ticket option during the purchase process. If there is no Group ticket option, then Group bookings are not available for that particular show. Please ensure you arrive early if you wish to sit as a party as seats are not reserved, Front of House staff will try their best to ensure you sit together.

In many circumstances, ticket prices are set at the time of the initial on-sale and stay the same until the event. However, some tickets including tickets that are categorised as “In Demand Tickets” or “Platinum Tickets” are “market-priced” and so the price of the ticket may increase or decrease at any time, based on demand.

Prices may also be changed by Event Partners for a variety of reasons (e.g. marketing promotions).

Please note that you will not be entitled to a refund or credit if:

1. The price you paid for a ticket was at any time before you purchased your ticket less than the price you paid.

2. The price of any other ticket to the relevant event (whether in the same location or price category or otherwise) is subsequently reduced after you purchase your ticket.

Unfortunately, we are unable to swap tickets to other shows, and cannot swap tickets to a different event time. We strongly encourage that you double check your tickets and ticket time before completing your purchase to avoid any issues.

For security purposes, if you do not enter your card information within 3 minutes, the page will expire and lock you out of the payment window.

If this happens, please go back to your Members Area and retry the entire process again.

There is no allocated seating inside the venues at Strand Park (The Parlour, The Bunker, The May Wirth) unless advised otherwise.

Seating is on a first come first serve basis, for sold out shows seating will be managed accordingly by the stewards. Seats cannot be saved for large Groups so please arrive together if you wish to be seated together.
